Benficows - A History:
Benficows made their 1st appearance back in the Soccerpulse days founding with the same 4 members CowSimao, AGUIA-SLB, Luis, and Jase. The experts on Portuguese football predictions finished high in the Portuguese Prediction League and were able to bring some of their form into the World scene. The team gained a respectable position, but could have gone even further if not for injuries. Oh I mean that literally, because if not for those broken arms, perhaps Jase could have voted that week.
The Background:
Benficows were given their name thanks to the world class name creator CowSimao, who also created his own username with the same revolutionary ideas. By taking a favorable animal, and adding it to a favorite player or team, a perfect name could be created. Benficows symbolizes the members love both for Benfica and also for cows. Cows are one of the most versatile food providers, offering not only meat products, but dairy products in the forms of milk and cheese in addition.
The Benficows jersey embodies the colors of the cow: black and white. Adidas in appreciation of our connection to Benfica sponsors the jersey. To reward Sumol for their contributions to Portuguese society, they earn the center sponsor spot. Those who believe Cola-Cola and Sprite are great beverages are in for a surprise when they pop open a can of Sumol and fill their mouth with flavorful Orange, Pineapple, or Passion Fruit soda.
In the season 2010-2011, Benficows finished 6th place in the TTPL 1st division. This qualified them for the TTPL Super Cup, where they made the Semi-Finals.
The Rivalry:
Benfica and Porto fans have always hated each other, and that was no different in the Soccerpulse Prediction League. Benficows and FC Puerto held high animosity towards each other during their time in the SPPL. However due to the placement of the teams into different leagues, the rivalry was unable to reach the highest level.
Recently, the Pirates of the Alentejo joined the TTPL, sporting fans of BOTH FC Porto and Sporting CP, both real life rivals of SL Benfica. This officially makes them our 2010-2011 TTPL rivals. Expect street fights and houses burning to the ground because it's bound to get ugly. History was written on August 9, 2010 when it was confirmed Benficows beat Pirates of the Alentejo in a friendly match 10-7.
Our Philosophy:
Read carefully on our badge, because it reads "Kick Match Fixing Out of Football." We will make sure the TTPL stays pure, and actions such as selling whores to the admins to gain easy wins will not be tolerated. We're looking directly at you Pinto da Costa. Violators will be fed to our mad cow disease cow, Pissed Udder.
In TTPL, we also bring another philosophy inspired by our lord and savior Jorge Jesus. Our goal is simply put to score many goals. Attacking football will be appreciated in this club, the same football that earned Benfica a 1st place finish in Liga Sagres 09/10 and marked the return of Benfica to the Champions League.
