Player of the Year: Bale, Suarez, RVP, Carrick, Hazard, Mata,
Young player of the Year: Hazard, Bale, Lukaku, Welbeck, Wilshere, Benteke
No idea how Michu is not nominated. Should definitely be there ahead of Hazard.

You lot were waving plastic flags to the whole world. It was amusing. Rafa saw an opportunity to take a cheap shot and he took it.

I used to engage in discussion but I am usually more active on other forums such as Footylounge. Plus as a university student it is hard enough to find time to post in my blog on a semi-regular basis let alone post in various forums. But if my blog posts are such an inconvenience to you and the rest of this community, I will stop posting them and this thread will be as dead as ever seeing as my blog posts are basically the only thing that ever gets posted in here anyway.
A household name is someone that is generally known by the public, a name that people will recognize. Raheem Sterling is now a generally recognized name in football. Yeah that makes it "cringe-worthy as hell." Gotta love the constructive criticism on this forum.

Are you ever going to try actually engage in some discussion in this forum, or are you just going to copy and paste your blog post every time?

Same with Man City the other weekend. A couple of seasons ago they were in the second division and now they're challenging for the title. They draw a game and are right at the top of the table and their fans still boo. Really, what the fuck?
The Liverpool atmosphere hasn't been great for a long time now but one thing I can say, is that bar the Hodgson era, our fans have never really booed the team off the pitch. There have been some minor boo's here and there but nowhere near what I heard from the Spurs game.
In terms of Liverpool at the moment, we're a team that lacks major confidence. Piksi mentioned mentality and I fully agree with that. Our mentality is fucking shite. Alex Ferguson might not be the most tactically astute coach but boy can that man fire a team up. He's had a fucking terrible midfield for like 5 years now and yet they still challenge. The fact of the matter is they know how to win even when they are playing terribly. Liverpool cannot win even we are at our best. That is all down to mentality.
Ofcourse our squad needs reinforcements but none of that will matter until we can start putting back to back victories together.
Here's a little trivia which I don't actually have the answer to, so if someone could find it, that'll be great. When was the last time Liverpool won 2 consecutive league games? I honestly cannot remember us winning 2 consecutive games this whole year.

Also, those GIF's are slowed down which makes it looks like Torres' reaction wasn't immediate. It was though and he went down immediately after contact.

In today's game it's extremely difficult for any young player to make the step up. The one thing you look for in a youngster in excitement, that will to want to play football, and that's immediately why players like Shelvey and Sterling have made the step up. They're both supremely confident in their ability and they don't shy away from the action. They want to be in that fight. You have to have the right mentality otherwise you'll never make it no matter how much talent you have. I've seen Pacheco quite a few times now and he's never ever come close to the same impact Sterling has made. That's the difference for me. I've wanted Rafa, Hodgson, Kenny and Rodgers to give him a chance but he's never taken it. That's really disappointing for me. I can understand that playing a lone striker role isn't your best position but at least try to make it work. Show some passion and willingness to get involved in the game. Pacheco's attitude was disappointing for me and you compare that performance to someone like Adam Morgan who has less skill and talent but has the willingness and eagerness to succeed. That for me is important and I don't see that in Pacheco.
Suso was a bit better than Pacheco but also pretty anonymous. He had a couple of mazy runs but that was about it. Personally, I don't think he'll make the grade here because to me he holds on to possession for far too long. In the quicker pace of the Premiership, he won't get that time and he'll struggle. I also think he doesn't have the right attitude to succeed. I was actually hoping Adorjan would be given another chance because I've always liked the look of him. He's less skillful than Suso but he's more intelligent and reads the game better. He also releases the ball faster and seems to have a lot more awareness about him. I hope he gets another chance and that this time it will be as an advanced midfielder.
Kudo's to Henderson as well. I thought he had another great game in the middle. If it was up to me, I'd play Henderson, Allen & Shelvey in midfield against United with Gerrard on the bench. At the moment, Gerrard is in the team because of his name, not because of his performances. I'm getting tired of cringing everytime he loses the ball for us.
