Now the trick for Sandy is to figure out a way to charge for thinking about the club now

Couldn't find the Laporta-thread, so I guess I'll just post here.  Quite surprising news, apparently Laporta is going to marry the infamous Catalan porn actress Maria Lapiedra (you all remember her from that vid she made about Villa).  I wonder how Laporta's sons feel about their new mother-in-law :)

Weird, haven't read anything about it in the catalan newspapers, maybe it's untrue after all?

If it's true anyway, i wonder if laporta would star in one of her upcoming movies? ;)

Big loss from within the club, Oscar Gacia, coach of the Juvenil A side is going to leave the club in June despite a year left on his contract...Seems tied to Eusebio's extension with the B team, a position Garcia has made little secret he covets...Some speculation that his link to Cruyff may be part of Rosell's desire to rid the club of any remaining connections to the master...By extension, that means Pep is part of that DNA as well and perhaps why he's been getting so much pressure in the media about his renewal...Some of us have touched on this before but this has long been a fear of mine that Sandy will expedite Pep's departure from the club...Whether it's this season or the next, I am failing to see this relationship endure

Garcia really showed a lot of promise as a coach and it's not surprising that he's been pursued for first team positions around Europe...Just seems a damn shame to let this sort of talent leave the club

Excerpt of an interview with Sport nearly 7 months ago when asked about his desire at the club:

Quote

Would you like to make a career in the club?

Yes, I’d like to. Being at Barça signifies being at the club all of my entire life, I’m been at Barça since I was little, I have spent all of my life defending these colors. And continuing this way would be very good from the professional point of view as much as my personal point of view.

Well, rexach said some days ago that he'd possibly become the successor of pep in 2 or 3 years. Surely it makes sense that he first gains some experience, just like lucho did. Not everyone can be like pep, going straight from the b-team to the a-team without any experience?

Also, at this point i find it hard to believe that rosell still wants to get rid of pep. 7 years ago maybe yes, but now, i don't think so

Well, one, Oscar made it pretty clear via twitter some time ago he coveted the B position...Eusebio, despite perhaps working with fewer resources, hasn't made a stellar impression with the B team...Garcia is a coveted coaching prospect and letting an asset borne out of La Masia walk away is bad anyway you look at it...The club has typically not let assets just walk away that they value

Plus, it's not difficult to connect the dots here of late in terms of Pep's renewal...and Pep's attitude about the renewal reflects that pressure which can only be coming from the board...Even the players who are hounded over the question understand the process and are understandably tired of the questions...A big reason why we even saw that Pep said if he was given a deadline, he'd comply...which basically meant that he wasn't going to be pressured and if they would, the consequences would be a forced one...Laying the blame at those who are pressuring and that comes from the top

I believe that divide exists...Cruyff is out, Garcia is now on his way out and that would leave only Pep as loyal to Cruyff...There are a lot of backroom politics at play here...And as inconceivable as it is to imagine Rosell pushing Pep out, I imagine Sandy knows full well he does not have the autonomy over the club he seems to covet himself...He knows the club is Pep-centered

Another vid from Maria Lapiedra (Catalan pornstar and soon to be Laporta's wife?) about Laporta:

Don't like the comments coming from Sandy on the remodel vs new construction re: Camp Nou, obvious he's already pushing for new construction...The members will decide but I hope they go with remodel

Yeah, I really don't like the idea of a new stadium.  It'd be nice if they could make the capacity even bigger in the current stadium, but I don't really see how they could possible do that.  In which area would it be possible to add seats: in the General?

Well, we all knew this was ultimately where it would end up, but Rosell and his team have decided to move from "Qatar Foundation" to "Qatar Airways" for next season.

This goes away from any of their pretenses that Qatar Foundation was still a not for profit humanitarian organization, and so it was not a big step away from UNICEF.  Well, now we've gone full commercial.  It's what we all expected, but it does show that this was the objective all along IMHO.

To add to this news:  They also announced that the oil company SHELL is now the sponsor for the FC Barcelona Foundation.

I'm sure he's lining his pockets big time.  Alas, now we're just like everyone else.

And who are you , the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?
