He's turned out to be a really important player this season even though the attention has been on many others. Whenever Aimar or Ramires have gotten injured, he has slotted in and played brilliantly. There were the 2 screamers in the league, a few long ball assists, and overall he just adds a lot of skill and technique into the midfield.

One thing that separates him from other players is that he always takes the toughest option. Choosing the impossible pass over the simple one, and sometimes that works out for him.  :)

lol great title, really works well for today :D

I really think this guy should be in the nt. I know he doesn't always start but he's having a great season, a very talented player and i just think he's a better players then a lot of the mids being called up by Queiroz.

I agree about him being included in the national team squad. He's been playing great this season.

It's clear that he can't play full games, but Jesus has worked out a great system by having him and Aimar filling in when the other isn't healthy enough or fatigued. It's worked great so far this season.

He's probably been our best player so far this preseason. Every season he keeps improving for Benfica, it really shows his determination to help the club.

Anyone see that volley off Aimar's corner in the Monaco game? Perfect timing on that shot, very few players can do that.

That volley was gorgeous. It looks like Aimar and Martins have tried that a few times in practice.

He just scored another screamer from outside the box.  :D

Isn't this breaking the laws of football scoring so many shots outside of the box?  :P

Another great long shot from Martins. Too bad he won't get the praise he deserves for it with the situation the team is in.

Great performance. This is the Carlos Martins I admire. I hope he can keep this up for club and country.

He is by far your best player. I love him, he was so childish back on Sporting and Huelva but now we can call him a man... and what a man!
I'm not narrow minded enough to deny the talent of a rival team, so here it is... Carlos Martins, I love you, come to Porto and make yourself happy. (  :whistling: )  :worshippy:

I'm gonna pretend I didn't just read that load of shit

Dunno what you're on about though, he was a top player at Recreativo.

Quick to praise Martins (now, even though the last time he represented our country was a pretty woeful display) surprised pretty much no one is talking about the, oh, 3 goals y'all managed to concede just as fast as you could score 'em  :icon_neutral:  late in the game.
