Really? Not consistant enough for me. Where's his breakthrough season? I dont know. We here that he's underrated, but how do you come to that conclusion and in what class of players would you put him? Nani and Robben?

Nani, Di Maria and Robben are the 3 most impressive to me. Granted I haven't seen much of Robben lately, I'd say Nani's top of my list.

I wouldn't say Navas is the best winger, but he is just below the likes of Robben. He is a very consistent performer, who because he is afraid to go anywhere other than Sevilla, will not get the exposure the likes of Nani and Robben get.

I think the winger role is dying out, or atleast in the traditional sense, where they start from deep, willing to help out in defence, and above all cross before cutting in and shooting, which is what most "wingers" or rather wide forwards are doing now a days. Wingbacks are more or less taking over those responsibilities. With the emergence of 4-3-3 and the lone striker this past decade, there's been less focus on having two centre forwards, and more so on having the three to four attacking players upfront converging and creating. So with that in mind how do we assess the best when the role and common formation's changed, when wide forwards are producing more on the statistics end, and differently to boot?

Are Lahm and Alves better "wingers" than, say, Kuyt and Lavezzi? atleast for us (FC Porto) I'd say Alvaro Pereira is our best crosser of the ball. Has the line blurred a bit, and can we finally start considering all players that play 'on the wing' to be wingers?

If Ronaldo's considered a winger, it would undoubtedly go to him.

Nani's one of the strongest recognized wingers in the world right now though and I personally believe he's a bit underrated. His finishing and general play has really improved over the last 2 season and he's proving to be a really clinical player for united.

Some funny nominees in the list but at playing the traditional winger role Ronaldo is probably the best in the world even though he rarely plays there (The odd few minutes per match if your lucky).
