What everyone has been calling him throughout the ITK for the deal. It's caught on for me.

I think Tottenham have one of the best back lines in the league now, if it wasn't confirmed already, this guy seems a rock. Him and Kaboul alongside, damn, will be hard to get by. Both are only mid 20's too so not possibly at their best. Any news on the fee? Heard €12 million banded about.

Think it was 9 potentially rising to 12m. Peanuts for a guy like him. It'd be interesting to see if AVB will allow him to run out of defense with the ball like he did for Ajax. It's one of his best attributes and if he can adapt it to the English game, he's going to be a monster signing.

I have a good feeling over Jan. Seems to be exactly the kind of player we need at the back, both ability wise as well as personality wise.

He's from Flanders, so I'm guessing Dutch, but would he speak French also?

Dutch, French and English. He communicates with Gallas in French.
