The official website revealed our preseason schedule. There are some difficult teams in here, so it should be an interesting pre-season.

Happy to see Melgarejo and Yartey, hope they will be given a good look this preseason. Surprised with Perez though with the bs last season.
No Capdevila and Emerson (thank god) as they have been given permission to start looking for other clubs.

I hope Carlos Martins stays this season, if Jesus isn't going to use Bruno Cesar in the center. Having Martins to rotate with Aimar like he did in the past would be a big help. And there are games where he can save us with his long shots and passing ability.

I really hope Hugo Viera isn't being considered a forward. He was at his best playing just behind the striker as more of a number 10.

Ugg Rodrigo is gonna miss some pre season because of the Olympics. Also feel Vieira played best behind the striker. Also i think to get the best out of Martins, i think he'd play best where Witsel plays, think he'd be a good backup.

Roderick will now be going joining the team in France while Yartey is cut. A bit disappointed to see Yartey cut, always wanted to see him get a look, problem is that we have way to many wingers especially on the lw.

I don't think he'll have problems as a forward, if he plays as a deep-lying forward like Saviola in his first season here. He has similar qualities with his pace, dribbling, and goalscoring. Saviola in his best form linked up great with Cardozo so if we could get Hugo Vieira doing that with Cardozo or Rodrigo it could help our playstyle.

Also back in his days playing in the Regionals, he scored 37 goals in 30 games during a season. If he has a hunger for goals, I'd like to see how he does with Aimar, Witsel, and others behind him supplying passes.

JJ said that it'll either be Luisinho or Melgarejo at LB, not sure why we may move Melgarejo to defense, smh.

There's only 1 LB in the squad right now so they had to throw someone in there. Hopefully it's just until we get a main LB signed because it'd be a waste using Melgarejo as an LB when he can be contributing with goals playing in his normal position.

We beat Marseille 2-0 with a Cardozo goal (PK) and Carlos Martins goal.

Luisinho looked pretty good at LB and sent in more crosses in 45 minutes than Emerson did in the whole season. He also made a few nice tackles. The only negative is that he isn't used to dealing with long balls to pacey players like Remy, but that was expected from someone who is still adapting to the LB position.

Melgarejo played LB in the 2nd half but Marseille barely attacked so he wasn't tested much.

I preferred having Nolito and Ola John as our wingers over Gaitan and Bruno Cesar. They get into the box much more naturally. Gaitan and Cesar stay too deep sometimes leaving 1 striker against 4 defenders. This was a problem last season when we faced teams with 10 men defending. John was constantly a nuisance to defenders with his dribbling and pace and he looks for the cross.

Bruno Cesar was tried in the center 2nd half. I'd rather see him used there because of what I mentioned above.

I like what Martins adds to the team. He can get us goals from midfield which will be needed against teams that park the bus. Beautiful goal today.
