very nice goal by Martins, it was set up nicely by Nolito. Luisinho did good, won all of the 1v1 battles. completely controlled the first half imo. Second half was more even as soon as we took out guys like Javi and Witsel. Weren't really threatened at all defensively. I really don't like that Kardec and Saviola partnership, it was poor 2 years ago don't think it's gonna get better, would have preferred to see Michel or Vieira.

Yeah I was hoping to see Michel and Vieira instead of Kardec and Saviola. Maybe we'll see them in the next game, which is against weaker opposition.

That was so painful to watch :P The only players we had from the first team were Cheyrou, Gignac and Ayew.

ah turned out Michel has a slight injury, same with Mora. Also should be mentioned that Matic and John both came off injured, i believe John's injury isn't to serious but Matic's injury looked pretty bad, had a lot of trouble getting out of the field.

Defeated Hamm of Luxembourg 3-0. Maxi, Cardozo, and Nolito with the goals. No real challenge, whole game was played in Hamm's zone, a warm up match for tomorrow against Lille.

Our backups had some issues creating chances even though they had all the possession. We only got the goals after some of the starters came on.

Out of the backups, Enzo Perez was actually decent and put in some good crosses, but that shot he missed was embarrassing lol.

ya that was a terrible shot, no idea how he missed it. Hope Kardec goes soon, offers nothing upfront.

Tied Lille 0-0. Some players looked fatigued playing their second match in 24 hours. Nolito and Martins both struck the post.

Possession was good in the first half, but the fatigue started to affect us in the second half. Still, we managed to keep another clean sheet, which hopefully continues to be a trend.

Melgarejo wasn't bad at LB, but more games are needed to see if he can consistently handle the defensive side of the game.

Artur deserves a mention. Looks like he'll continue where he left off and have another good season.

That goal from Nolito was amazing. I didn't knew he could take free kicks. Impressive.

Mantorras scored against Figo's team in his final game for us. Nice exit for him and he got an ovation from the fans. :)

I was able to see the first half, but I missed the second. We controlled the match in the first half and Cardozo scored off a really classy Witsel assist. Witsel had two players surrounding him, and then backheeled his way out of them and passed it to Cardozo.

The match ended 4-2. Based off the highlights, Slask scored two nice goals to tie it 2-2 after Luisao scored a header for us assisted by Carlos Martins. Then Martins got a goal after Melgarejo's shot hit the post and bounced to him. Gaitan got the last goal with another Martins assist. 1 goal and 2 assists for Martins, another impressive game from him.

Whatever was fucked up in Enzo Perez's head has seemingly been fixed. Beautiful goal from near the corner flag with his weaker foot. Is this real life? Not only that, he made some nice one-two passes with Maxi, and got himself a second goal. Could be a useful sub this season if he puts his past behind him and acts professionally.

Melgarejo with some big positives, but some big negatives too. On attack, he was great. His pace adds a lot to our attack, and he puts in some nice crosses. He deserved an assist, but Cardozo missed a volley that should have been buried. However, he was raped by Di Maria on Real's first goal. He'll need to learn quickly to be ready for the beginning of the season, if Jesus is planning to have him as the starter.

Carlos Martins is from a different world right now. Assisting and scoring in every friendly game.
