Tito's first season in charge of the club will have a somewhat abbreviated pre-season with no USA or ASIA tour planned. With so many players taking part in either the Euro 2012 tournament or the Olympic tournament, this is probably a very good idea. As it stands now, with the recent announcement of the Trofeo Joan Gamper opponent (Sampdoria), the pre-season looks like this:

July 24th, 2012: @ Imtech Arena in Hamburg Germany to play Hamburg SV (Hamburg SV celebrating 125th anniversary).
,
July 28th, 2012: @ Tangiers, Morocco to play an all-star team from the Moroccan league.

August 4th, 2012: @ Paris, France to play Paris Saint-Germain.

August 8th, 2012: @ Goteborg to play Manchester United

August 11th, 2012: @ and and against Bucharest

** August 18th, 2012: La Liga Season Begins with Round 1

August 20th, 2012: Trofeo Joan Gamper at Camp Nou against Sampdoria

August 22nd, 2012: @ Camp Nou, Spanish Super Cup, Leg 1

** August 25th, 2012: La Liga Round 2

August 29th, 2012: @ Santiago Bernabeu, Spanish Super Cup, Leg 2

-----------------------------------------------

The scheduling of the Joan Gamper on the 20th of August seems a bit out of place to me. It seems to me like it should have been schedule 1 week earlier knowing that the league and the super cup are so close together in the first two rounds of the season.

I guess we can expect a fairly dull Joan Gamper with very few of the top players in a significant role.

It'll be just like training, the Gamper trophy. It's always a party atmosphere, so I'm sure the players, no matter how long they play, won't give it at full speed.

And who are you , the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?

Strange locale considering the small stadium but a city passionate about footy

"Barcelona are technically and tactically superior to everyone. They are the essence of football – a joy to watch."

It's in the Ciudad Deportiva normally, but as far as I know those training-sessions aren't open to the public (only the first 15 minutes of the training-session are open to the press I think, the rest is behind closed doors)

Can't wait to see the boys again, especially Messi and Alexis who I expect big things from this season if he can just stay fit.
"Messi is the one who makes the difference, who takes us to another level. He'll never be repeated. He's the best player I've ever seen, the best player I'll ever coach." - Pep Guardiola

I just read on a Dutch football-website that Messi is Injured, and will not play?
