Also had to be said that Ferguson's decision to rest some of our best players against Bilbao has paid off. Wellbeck, Scholes, and Carrick were all exceptional. Wouldn't mind sending a similar team to Spain midweek, league is the number one priority now that were in the drivers seat.

Bit too early to start celebrating imo. The chaser always has less pressure to be honest. Yes, our run in is easier, but its by no means finished. Still... GREAT fucking day!

We still have a long way to go but this is just perfect, never expected a title twist so early. We're now under a lot of pressure and need to perform, it's up to us now.

It was a great display, it's definitely our best performance this year, primarily because we never looked like slowing down the tempo, we kept attacking West Brom non-stop, and our interplay was fantastic, causing them problems. We have had some great first halves this year, like the one against Arsenal, but we weren't consistently great, whereas today, we maintained the same level of threat for a long duration of the game.This was probably the easiest game to play in for, both, Scholes and Carrick. I was surprised there wasn't excessive pressure, as West Brom is one of the best teams at pressuring opponents effectively.
You really do have to take your hats to Fergie and this Manchester United side. After the 1-6 loss to Manchester City, we were written off, according to some, we would have degraded even further, possibly finishing third. When we lost to Basel, the same was basically said. Even this year, when we lost two consecutive games, against Blackburn and Newcastle respectively, we were out of it, or so they thought. It seems that the media will never learn that you simply can't rule us out.
After the Manchester City game, these were the five fixtures we played in:
Everton 0 - 1 Manchester United
Manchester United 1 - 0 Sunderland
Swansea 0 - 1 Manchester United
Manchester United 1 - 1 Newcastle
Aston Villa 0 - 1 Manchester United
We were, more often than not, criticised for playing poor football, but we still obtained fantastic results from all those fixtures, although we should have won the Newcastle game had it not been for some poor refereeing. We went to Goodison and the Liberty stadium, played well, and won. Contrary to this, Manchester City lost to both teams, and were outplayed. It's unfair to select these games, as every game in the league is as equally important, but for me, these games were much more important, we had to regain our feet. It just highlights our character and identity.

Nah, agree with Franck, there's more pressure at the top. United won't feel much of it because they've been there, done it, they'll handle it well. City on the other hand have crumbled, losing the lead could just be the beginning of worse things to come. What was their lead? 14 points?
