I'm not watching it. I probably should be, but there are other things on I prefer.

Drogba skies a penalty in the 70th minute. Still 0-0. It was a dubious penalty anyway as Gervinho was pushed just outside the box.

Wow. Drogba did a Beckham style penalty and completely skied it up.

If Zambia ends up winning this, he'll live to regret it. Great run by Gervinho to get the penalty.

Zambia win it in a quality penalty shoot out. About half the pens were in the top corner. Kolo Toure and Gervinho both missed.

That was one of the most incredible shootouts that I have ever seen, such quality penalties, the 3 misses aside. Would have loved to see Ivory Coast win this so Drogba could have one but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Congrats Zambia.

It was only fitting that Zambia would win the tournament in the same place they lost their entire team almost 2 decades ago.

Emotional scenes at the end there. Especially their coach carrying the injured LB into the celebrations.

Singing as you take the winning penalty in the shootout makes you a boss.

Ivory Coast didn't concede a goal in the whole tournament and still didn't win it. Tough on them. Gotta feel for Gervinho and for Drogba a bit too. Was glad Zambia won it though, as a lot of the Ivory Coast players have big club games to play in whilst this is probably the peak of most of the Zambian teams' careers.

Couldn't believe it, lol. It was boss. That was one of the best penalty shootouts I've seen in a long time. Happy Zambia won as well. Nice tribute to the squad of 1993 & like you said, it's probably going to be the peak of their careers.

That was one of the most beautiful matches I've ever seen in my life. And the drama by the end was almost unbearable. Tough luck on Ivory Coast (seeing Yaya Toure crying by the end was really heart-breaking), but tbh, I was all for Zambia today, they simply had to win. Winning their first ACN in the same land they lost 18 players in 1993, there is nothing that can top that, as much as I do like Ivory Coast NT.

This game makes me remember why I love football so much. You see so much crap in football world and then a match like this takes place and it's everything of good that this sport embodies.

Congrats Zambia, truly well deserved.

Heart skipped a beat and when I caught it you were out of reach.

I thought drogba was going to miss in the shootout hah, luckily i was wrong about that. Gutted for him but Zambia have been organized the entire tournament with a team of mostly domestic internationals - impressive to say the least.

Games like this are why the African Cup of Nations is such a special tournament. Everybody seemed to support the African teams in the 2010 World Cup, just as almost everybody loved seeing the World Cup in South Africa, minus the vuvuzelas. The African nations seem to have so much more passion than others. They'll sing and they'll dance, and they'll embrace each other as brothers. It's great to see.

I think I cared more about Zambia winning than I have about England winning a match in a long time and I have absolutely no ties to the country.
