I've never seen this happen before in any race. This racer deserves a price for not giving up. When the leaders went through he got a knock on the side by one of the leading cars. It wasn't his fault at all, because he gave plenty of space. In the end the damage was made, but despite the damage it had done, he just wouldn't give up that easily. After the crash he stayed with his car and waited till his crew joined him behind the fence. While the car is still on track, the crew can't work on the car. So for 2 hours, driver Satoshi Motoyama has tried to repair the car on his own with the instructions the crew gave him. Despite numerous tries he failed to revive the machinery. You could see this famous 24h of Le Mans race meant everything to him. He would literally do anything to finish the race. In the end it was helpless. He ended in tears and he was forced to retire from the race... /heartbreaking
