With the Scottish Cup elminated from the fixture schedule, Rangers can now put a lot more emphasis on the Europa League, albeit that was probably the knockout competition the majority of us would like to have prioritised to begin with. Of course this is easier said than done, with our next obstacle being a trip to Eindhoven to take on PSV. We do have history on our side, PSV have never beaten a Scottish side, and they've had 4 cracks at us, the last of which saw us gore them 4-1 at Ibrox in the 1999-2000 Champions League, with our last trip to Eindhoven being settled by a solitary Jorg Albertz goal. However nobody in blue can go into this game taking PSV lightly, our neighbours learned the hard way going to the Netherlands and getting a result is much easier said than done, and given our injury/inevitabilty issues the task in hand is made all the tougher. With Jelavic infuriatingly cup-tied, the lone striker role will undoubtedly fall to El Hadj Diouf, who worked the role well in Lisbon, but we have been 'boosted' by the return of 'striker' Kyle Lafferty so Walter Smith may mix it up a bit.
