Bienvenue à Ligue 1! The league has become more competitive with each passing season since the end of Olympique Lyonnais' record seven consecutive titles. Paris St-Germain have snapped up some of Europe's brightest prospects with the help of their new owners and will surely be a strong favourite for the Championship. Their Southern rivals, Olympique de Marseille, have spent modestly in comparison but they are far from being written off having been one of the top teams in France for the past few seasons. Lille will try to defend their title despite the loss of key players that brought them their success while Bordeaux will have to learn from their past failures to mount a serious challenge for a top spot. Les Bleus appear reinvigorated under Blanc and look poised to reclaim their spot amongst the European football giants as Euro 2012 qualifiers provide the first real test for the team.
