French Football

Bienvenue à Ligue 1! The talk of France has finally shifted north to Paris St. Germain thanks to their high spending Qatari owners. Montpellier, the surprise package of last season, will have to make do with their modest budget in defending their tltle. Lille and Lyon remain hot on their heels for a place in the top three as they look to maintain their consistency while Olympique de Marseille deals with the fallout of placing 10th in the previous season. Will Paris be able to beat off their competition? With French stalwart Didier Deschamps now at the helm of Les Bleus, he may prove to be more experienced than Blanc in unlocking the true potential of the French NT for the 2014 World Cup.

German Football

We're fresh off another entertaining season of German football which saw Borussia Dortmund win the league for the first time in nearly a decade. With Germany overtaking Italy in the European coefficients providing a fourth Champions League spot for the Bundesliga, a new batch of teams will be fighting for the extra European spot. Can Dortmund keep up the level of play without Nuri Sahin and win the title again or will the distraction of the Champions League prove too much? Can Bayern win back their trophy or will they struggle to find their feet under Jupp Heynckes? Or will the likes of Schalke, Stuttgart and Werder have to ward off relegation scares once again? There really is no telling with this league, the only way to find out is to watch the season unfold with us!

There was no sign of a big yellow taxi, but Italian clubs have come to realise that you really don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. Traditional challengers Internazionale and Juventus have bolstered their squads, as have southern giants Napoli and the born-again AS Roma. After a disastrous season, Porto turned it around and won everything. Now with a new coach, they will attempt to replicate their success in the last term. Sporting have started a new project, with a new President, coach and 15 signings, and want to become title contenters again. Braga have suffered some big changes after another successful year and might go into a period of transition. There are also the Portuguese stars abroad; from 'El Especial' in José Mourinho, to one of the world's best in Cristiano Ronaldo.
