Dutch Football

Ajax finally did it! They won their 30th league title under new-comer Frank de Boer, ensuring the Amsterdam-side to have a 3rd star on their chest and a secured spot in the Champions League. Over the summer, money has spend to overthrow the new champions though. PSV have brought in Mertens, Strootman and Matavz and Twente have acquired the services of Co Adriaanse and Fer. AZ and Feyenoord have built on their sides, matching them up with Groningen and Heerenveen. At the bottom of the table, things remain close as ever as RKC have strengthened themselves whilst Excelsior made do without Pastoor and Fernandez. On top of that, Van Marwijk's boys are dominating the world internationally. The future is bright, the future is Oranje!

Man City's financial clout has been exercised in the transfer market yet again to try and dethrone a Man Utd side now without Alex Ferguson at the helm, but the competition is as fierce as ever with Chelsea hot on their heels as well after the return of the 'Special One', Jose Mourinho. It's a big season for Arsenal who have broke their transfer record with Mesut Özil, Spurs had a major window as well spending £100m+ but sold star man Gareth Bale, whilst Liverpool continue to impress under Rodgers. The chasing pack are all equally contested, and it's sure to be another important season for Everton, Newcastle, Aston Villa and the likes. It promises to be another season of fantastic football, controversial decisions, high intensity atmospheres and wonderful unpredictability. Just around the corner is a whole different experience in the Football League too, which will produce another frantic race to the top. English football has it all!

French Football

Bienvenue à Ligue 1! The talk of France has finally shifted north to Paris St. Germain thanks to their high spending Qatari owners. Montpellier, the surprise package of last season, will have to make do with their modest budget in defending their tltle. Lille and Lyon remain hot on their heels for a place in the top three as they look to maintain their consistency while Olympique de Marseille deals with the fallout of placing 10th in the previous season. Will Paris be able to beat off their competition? With French stalwart Didier Deschamps now at the helm of Les Bleus, he may prove to be more experienced than Blanc in unlocking the true potential of the French NT for the 2014 World Cup.

German Football

We're fresh off another entertaining season of German football which saw Borussia Dortmund win the league for the first time in nearly a decade. With Germany overtaking Italy in the European coefficients providing a fourth Champions League spot for the Bundesliga, a new batch of teams will be fighting for the extra European spot. Can Dortmund keep up the level of play without Nuri Sahin and win the title again or will the distraction of the Champions League prove too much? Can Bayern win back their trophy or will they struggle to find their feet under Jupp Heynckes? Or will the likes of Schalke, Stuttgart and Werder have to ward off relegation scares once again? There really is no telling with this league, the only way to find out is to watch the season unfold with us!

There was no sign of a big yellow taxi, but Italian clubs have come to realise that you really don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. With high-placed finishes meaning even more now for Italy’s ambitious clubs, champions AC Milan will have to contend with a resurgent chasing pack if they have designs on retaining their title. Traditional challengers Internazionale and Juventus have bolstered their squads, as have southern giants Napoli and the born-again AS Roma. In a championship stacked with both emerging and established stars of the game, Serie A is set for a memorable 2011/2012 season.

After a disastrous season, Porto turned it around and won everything. Now with a new coach, they will attempt to replicate their success in the last term. Benfica, on the other hand, had a very disappointing season considering the very high expectations generated by their leaders, so will look to improve and win the league. Sporting have started a new project, with a new President, coach and 15 signings, and want to become title contenters again. Braga have suffered some big changes after another successful year and might go into a period of transition. There are also the Portuguese stars abroad; from 'El Especial' in José Mourinho, to one of the world's best in Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi and Ronaldo continue their celebrated statistical duel, but new Barca star Neymar threatens to get in on the act. Atletico Madrid are the King's Cup Champions, and clubs like Malaga and Valencia still hope to challenge the big two for next season's title.

Australian Football

Welcome to Australia, mate! The A-League is back after its most successful season yet. The Wanderers proved that Australians can compete with Europe in terms of matchday atmosphere. They also came very close to winning the Grand Final after finishing 1st in the regular season, losing only to one of the most consistent sides in recent years - the Mariners. Melbourne Victory have been the benchmark in Tiki-Taka under Postecoglou but they will be rivaled by Adelaide United who are coached by ex-Barca youth coach Josep Gombau. Holger Osieck's Socceroos have qualified for the 2014 World Cup and will be looking to improve on recent results. Discuss all this and more with a bunch of great Aussie blokes.
